Happiness for Beginners
Happiness for Beginners . Satisfaction for Amateurs is an impending American rom-com film featuring Ellie Kemper and Luke Grimes, a transformation of the Katherine Center 2015 novel of a similar name. The novel was adjusted for the screen and coordinated by Vicky Wight. The film will debut on July 27, 2023 through Netflix.
Premise: Happiness for Beginners
Following a separation, Helen (Kemper) books on an Appalachian Path survivalist course where she meets Jake (Grimes), a companion of her more youthful brother.

Production:
The film is directed by Vicky Wight from the 2015 Katherine Center novel, with the project announced in October 2021. Wight has a co-writing credit with Center on the project and previously directed an adaptation of another Center novel, The Lost Husband (2020). 
Center has an executive producer credit on the film, along with Jeff Sackman and Larry Greenberg while Wight also produces, with Geoff Linville and Berry Meyerowitz. Cranetown Media reportedly worked on the project with principal photography wrapping in November 2021 in Stamford, Connecticut.
Kemper said she was drawn to the role due to the nuance in the character of Helen. She told Entertainment Weekly, “ Helen is a grump. It felt like that would be fun to play because it is so different from the optimistic, funny, bright-eyed women that I’ve played in the past.”
